The short version
- Five natural-latex loops, each 12 x 2 in laid flat, color-coded from extra light (green) to extra heavy (black); the whole set weighs about 3.5 oz.
- $8.48 on Sep 30, 2026 for the Assorted set, shipped by Amazon and sold by the brand through Amazon; roughly $1.70 per band, the cheapest useful item on this site.
- They are latex. If you or someone in your household reacts to natural rubber latex, this is the wrong set, full stop.
Optional resistance for the strength block of the 20-minute routine.
Nothing to eat here.
A light band can join a cool-down, but this is not a recovery tool.
What the spec shows
We read the Amazon listing for the Assorted set (ASIN B01AVDVHTI), its comparison chart and spec table, and Fit Simplify's own product pages for the set and for the single-resistance packs, on Sep 30, 2026. The per-band pound figures below are the brand's own statements; we did not measure anything.
| Spec | Value | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Bands in the set | 5 | One of each resistance. Colors: green (extra light), blue (light), yellow (medium), red (heavy), black (extra heavy). |
| Size, laid flat | 12 x 2 in | Per the brand. That is about 24 in around before stretching. The Amazon spec table lists 12 x 3 in; the brand's figure is the one we trust. A shorter 10 in version is sold separately. |
| Material | Natural latex | The brand says "100% natural latex" and explicitly not TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). Amazon's spec fields say "latex" and "natural latex". |
| Resistance, whole set | 5 to 35 lb | Amazon's comparison chart for this set. It is a range across five bands, not a per-band figure. |
| Light (blue) | 6 to 8 lb | Brand statement for a single light band. |
| Medium (yellow) | 10 to 12 lb | Brand statement for a single medium band. |
| Heavy (red) | 15 to 20 lb | Brand statement for a single heavy band. |
| Extra heavy (black) | 25 to 30 lb | Brand statement for a single extra-heavy band. We found no brand figure for the extra-light band. |
| Set weight | 3.5 oz | Per the Amazon spec table. It fits in a coat pocket. |
| In the box | Bands, bag, guide | Drawstring carry bag and a printed illustrated guide. The brand's site also mentions an e-book and online videos; the Amazon listing does not promise those. |
| Model | XCEX-01 | Amazon's model field. The listing's warranty field is blank; the brand's own site describes a lifetime money-back guarantee, which we could not verify applies to Amazon purchases. |
How it holds up in use
A flat loop band is the simplest resistance tool there is: it pulls harder the further you stretch it, and it weighs nothing. The question is whether that kind of resistance does anything. The evidence says it does, within limits. A 2019 systematic review and meta-analysis in SAGE Open Medicine pooled eight trials comparing elastic resistance with conventional weights and machines and found no meaningful difference in strength gains for either the upper or the lower body; the authors' conclusion was that elastic training produces similar gains across a range of people and programs [1]. An earlier review in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health, limited to healthy adults and only five trials, reached a similar place from the other direction: elastic resistance exercise beat doing nothing for strength and functional performance; against other training methods it was similar for strength and somewhat behind on functional performance [2].
Two honest caveats. Those reviews mostly used tubes and long therapy-style bands, not the 12-inch mini loops sold here, and the studies were small. What carries over is the principle: if the band makes the last few repetitions of a squat, bridge or side step genuinely hard, it is doing the job that the U.S. Physical Activity Guidelines' "muscle-strengthening activity on at least two days a week" is asking for [3]. If it does not, you need the next band up, or a kettlebell.
On the material: natural latex is what makes these bands stretchy and cheap, and it is also why they can perish. In our reading of the brand's care advice there is not much of it, so the practical rules are the generic ones for any rubber product: keep them out of sunlight and heat, keep them in the bag, and check each loop for nicks before a session. The brand's listing says every band is tested before shipping; it does not say how. Amazon's listing copy also makes rehabilitation and body-composition claims for these bands that we neither repeat nor endorse.
These are natural rubber latex. MedlinePlus (a National Library of Medicine resource) describes latex allergy reactions that range from a rash to breathing symptoms and, rarely, a severe whole-body reaction, notes that repeated contact raises the risk, and says avoidance is the main approach [4]. If anyone who will use or handle these bands has a latex allergy, choose a fabric or TPE set instead. Separately: a stretched loop that slips off a foot snaps toward your face, so keep the loop above the knees or around the ankles, not under a shoe, unless you are sure it is anchored.
How to fit it into a simple week
This is a sequence for putting the bands to use, not a forecast of what they will do for you.
Start two bands lighter than you think
For your first session, use the light (blue) band above the knees for squats and glute bridges and the medium (yellow) band for side steps. Form matters more than color.
Use them in the strength block only
The 20-minute routine keeps bands optional. The three places a loop earns its spot are above the knees for squats and bridges, around the ankles or above the knees for side steps, and in the hands for pull-aparts during the warm-up.
Move up when the last three reps stop being hard
If you can finish a set without slowing down, go to the next color at the next session. The set gives you five steps; most people will live on the middle three for a long time.
Keep them in the bag, out of the sun
Latex degrades with heat and light. Put the bands back in the drawstring bag, not on a windowsill, and replace any band that shows a nick or a thin spot.
Price and where it is sold
On Sep 30, 2026 the Assorted set was $8.48 on Amazon, shipped from Amazon and sold by "Fit_Simplify" (the brand selling through Amazon, not Amazon.com itself), with "FREE 30-day refund/replacement" shown on the listing (listing). That works out to about $1.70 per band. The same listing offers other colorways (Pastel, Berry, Blue, Pink, Purple and Coffee) as separate variations at their own prices; the Assorted set is the one we priced and photographed. Prices change; do not take this figure as current beyond that date.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone with a natural rubber latex allergy, or who shares a home with someone who has one, should choose a fabric or TPE band set instead.
- People who already squat with a barbell or heavy kettlebell will find even the black band light for lower-body work; this set is for adding resistance to bodyweight moves, not replacing weights.
- Anyone who wants long bands with handles for rows and presses is looking at a different product; Fit Simplify sells a tube set separately.
- If you want a single resistance in bulk (five of the same color), the brand sells single-level five-packs; this set is one of each.
- Anyone starting resistance work with an existing condition, after time away from exercise, or during pregnancy should check with a clinician first.
