The one-sentence version

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

That is the disclosure Amazon requires of every participant in its Associates program, and it is the only affiliate relationship this site has. Fit Simple Life (published by Aurora Group Platforms LLC) is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

How it works

Every product entry on this site has one button that opens that product's listing on Amazon.com. The link carries our Associates tag. If you buy the product, or in some cases other items during the same Amazon shopping session, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale as a commission. The price you pay is the same whether you arrive through our link or type the product name into Amazon yourself; the commission comes out of Amazon's side, not yours.

Amazon does not tell us who bought what. We see aggregate reports of items ordered and fees earned, not names, addresses or account details. Your purchase on Amazon is governed by Amazon's own terms and privacy notice, not ours.

Only Amazon, and only in one place

• We belong to no other affiliate program and have no direct arrangement with any manufacturer, brand or seller.
• We do not link to any seller other than Amazon as a place to buy. Manufacturer and brand pages appear only as sources, cited in the entry's Sources list as plain links with no affiliate parameter.
• We publish no sponsored posts, sell no placements, and accept no free products, samples or payment in exchange for coverage.
• We do not run display advertising on this site.

If any of this ever changes, this page changes first, and the affected entries will say so at the top.

How to recognize the links

Every affiliate link on this site goes to an address that begins with amazon.com/dp/ followed by the product's ASIN. In the page code each of those links is marked rel="sponsored", which is the standard way of telling search engines that a link is commercial. The sentence "As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases" sits next to every product button, so you will never have to hunt for the disclosure. Links to our own pages, to Amazon's help pages, and to sources such as the NIH or a manufacturer's label page are not affiliate links and earn us nothing.

What the commission does not change

The commission does not decide which products get a page. A product earns a page by passing the checks described in How We Keep It Simple: an established brand, a live listing we opened ourselves, a label or spec sheet we read, a dated price, and evidence we could find at the source. Amazon's commission rate for a category plays no part in that.

The commission does not change what an entry says. We report the label numbers as printed, hedge the research to match what the studies found, and say when a claim on the box is not backed by much, and we do that on the entries that pay us the same way we would on entries that did not. If a product does not deserve a place in a simple week, the honest answer is to say so, and an affiliate link does not buy a softer verdict.

The commission does not make a product "recommended". Placing a product in the Do, Fuel or Recover column is a description of where it fits, not an instruction to buy it. Most weeks need none of the products on this site.

Prices

Every price on this site carries the date we saw it, the size we saw it for, and the seller shown on the listing that day. Amazon prices change often, sometimes several times a day, and we do not update pages in real time. The number you should rely on is the one on the Amazon page at the moment you buy, and if it differs from ours, ours is the one that is out of date.

Why we disclose this way

The Federal Trade Commission expects sites that earn from the links they publish to say so clearly and close to the link, and the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement requires the specific sentence above. We would disclose it anyway. You can only judge an entry fairly if you know how the site behind it is paid.
